How we got started
O’Keeffe’s began as a small San Francisco sheet metal
shop in 1934. Affectionately known as “O’Keeffe, the
Fan Man,” the company gained a positive reputation for its
motors, fans and blowers that were fabricated primarily for naval
ships, submarines and restaurant exhaust systems. These reliable,
quality products laid the foundation for expansion into aluminum
products in the 1950s.
O’Keeffe’s, a pioneer in the use of patented aluminum
extrusions, obtained the patent on the first extruded aluminum
skylight
system in 1951. It wasn’t long before the company was recognized
for excellence in custom and standard
skylights, fire-rated windows and
doors, curtain
walls, roof
hatches and aluminum
fixed access ladders.
